INDUCTION

As we’ve already said, our employees are our biggest asset so when we bring new people into our business we believe a robust induction process is required.

On your first day, new employees are given a Welcome to Meldrum presentation. This takes new starters through our history, our companies, our structure, our core values and our expectations of them. Our Meldrum Starts With Me brochure explains how we expect our employees to behave and perform.

Our Blueprint document is a mini, easily digestible format of our business plan. We have a staff forum twice per year where we explain the aims and objectives of the business as well as our performance to date. This is summarised into a document which every member of staff receives.

The initial induction process starts with your first week and provides the foundation for your continuous learning and development at Meldrum.

TRAINING

As our people are our biggest asset, we are committed to ensuring our employees. We are always looking for new, vibrant, energetic and driven people who are up for a challenge.

We have had over 148 apprentices and trainees since 2001. We offer a wide range of training, development and learning opportunities such as work experience and work placements.

We have also put a number of our employees through courses to gain qualifications such as NVQ’s, AAT, HNC, HND, Degrees and Masters. We partner with a local independent school to offer a bursary as part of our commitment to encourage females into STEM subjects.

All of our site operatives are DBS checked, hold CSCS cards and hold SMSTS or SSSTS if they are Site Management as a minimum.
