Meldrum Civil Engineering were appointed to install a chemical toilet drop facility for touring coaches visiting Belmont Park and Ride in Durham.

The facility is situated just next to the A1 meaning the flow of traffic makes this a popular destination. The works include the installation of a cast in situ concrete structure, heavy duty grate, associated drainage inclusive of maintenance manhole and sampling chamber, a water tank and associated connection to the visitor centre.

The excavation of the chemical toilet drop point included a concrete chamber, concrete slab, drainage and metal grillage. Whereas the excavation of the water tank included a concrete slab, brick plinth, fencing and a gate.
