Northumbria House

CASE STUDIES

Northumbria House is a comprehensive refurbishment, where we transformed its 5,828 m² NHS office space. The project addressed critical backlog issues with the building’s mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, including necessary updates to plant equipment. Additionally, the first and second floors were reconfigured with new internal layouts to support improved functionality and workflow, along with modern finishes to refresh and enhance the working environment. This refurbishment ensures that Northumbria House meets the NHS standards for efficiency and usability, supporting the needs of staff and operations more effectively.

Core M&E Installations: Implementation of new lighting, air conditioning systems, air handling units, and ventilation throughout the facility.

New Facilities: Creation of new W/C and shower rooms.

Upgrades and Custom Furniture: Enhancements to kitchenettes, general decoration, and custom-built furniture provided by West End Joinery. Custom features include three reception desks, shelving units, and acoustic booths that meet DDA compliance standards for accessibility and sound control.

Additional Upgrades: Complete furnishing of all spaces, including a prayer room, expressing room, accessible shower, gender-neutral toilets, and specialized kitchen ventilation.

Considerations:-

This project was phased over day and night works to accommodate the clients tight schedule and handed in 11 sectional completion dates to maximise client productivity. We also revised and changed the works to fit in with new client requirements throughout the project, creating a truly bespoke space.
