Hummingbird House

CASE STUDIES

Jesmond House was a centrally located office block turned mental health hub by Meldrum Construction, refurbished and reconfigured for the NHS. Now Hummingbird House, this project aligns with our expertise in handling complex refurbishments that require careful coordination and detail. We collaborated closely with the Trust to ensure that every aspect of the facility is tailored to the needs of its patients and staff, with the aim of enhancing the overall healthcare experience.

Work began transforming the former office block on Victoria Avenue into a community mental health hub in March 2025 and was complete in September of the same year. Under a large flat roof is the externally rendered wall with powder coated aluminium double-glazed windows.

The works comprised of the strip-out and comprehensive internal refurbishment of three-storey health trust office accommodation block including the renewal of building services, sanitary, kitchenware, staff breakout, fixtures and fittings, partitions and decorative finishes. Space has been split up into different treatment spaces for different needs including, Physical Health Clinic & CAMHS, MDT and Adult Health Services.

All interior design elements were arranged by the trust to ensure branding and design is consistent.
