We were appointed to complete the new ventilation and heat recovery works at Durham sixth form’s new Media centre after successfully tendering for the works.

The project was within a new build sixth form and we were subcontracted to Durham County Council who project managed the works.

We supplied and installed the new ventilation for the media centre. The building supports large computer editing suites and maintaining the correct environmental conditions was imperative. We also completed the ventilation within the recording studios, overcoming a major challenge to ensure the noise from the plant remained below the sound pressure level criteria.

The original programme of works was over 5 months, but we completed all the works in 9 weeks across a number of phases.

The scope of work included the supply & install of new ventilation & heat recovery plant, ductwork, bracketry and insulation as well as commissioning and balancing on completion.
