Job Location:     Site Based

As General Operative your role is to ensure site performance and progress to meet contractual requirements cost-effectively and on time.

In this role, you will be responsible to the Site Manager.

Key responsibilities

This will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Carry out duties as instructed by the Manager to deliver a high quality service to specification, time and cost targets
• Maintain accurate and high quality work, demonstrating attention to detail in all areas of work
• Complete all paperwork as defined in the relevant company procedures, including assistance with compiling risk assessments, method statements, rectification and day work sheets as required
• Report back any useful market information to the Manager for further action
• Actively seek and promote ideas to improve the efficiency and image of the company as both an employer and a company, helping to create an environment of continuous improvement
• Actively participate in training and development to meet company objectives
• Actively monitor and promote all aspects of health and safety in line with the company health and safety policy
• Promote and ensure good housekeeping and maintenance, both on site, in vehicles and at the yard
• Ensure the safekeeping of all company property
• Wear company provided PPE equipment and uniform at all times, ensuring it is well maintained and kept clean
• Ensure all equipment is in the van prior to going to site and is maintained and safely stored in the van
• Ensure all equipment and machinery is maintained, cleaned and oiled on a daily basis
• Ensure all records including timesheets are completed accurately and submitted on time each week
• Provide holiday and sickness cover as required
